Stanly County Panthers lose first game

In front of a few hundred fans at Webb Field in Albemarle, the Stanly County Panthers held their first-ever regular season football game against the Catawba County Hornets.

The Panthers trailed 16-0 at halftime and lost 24-14 to the Hornets despite outscoring the visitors 14-8 in the final quarter.

Stanly continues their season this Saturday at Webb Field at 5 p.m. against the Thomasville Titans.
