Clarification

I received a message this morning that there was some confusion regarding my story in Sunday's paper on Albemarle having to forfeit games. Apparently, some readers have come to an incorrect conclusion that North Stanly and West Stanly were both fined for the same things that Albemarle was.

Let's be clear about this: North and West Stanly were in a meeting with the AD's from South and Albemarle, when it was discussed that PIEDMONT was fined by the state for violating the 8-quarter rule. It was brought up by North and West because, obviously, those two schools are members of the Rocky River Conference, along with Piedmont. North and West have not violated this rule and the article in question did not state that the two programs had violated any rule.
