Pfeiffer Women's Basketball team to play exhibition game at Duke

I finally have confirmation from Pfeiffer that the women's basketball team will be playing an exhibition game at Cameron Indoor Stadium on November 3 at 7 p.m.!

This marks the second time in three years that a Pfeiffer basketball team will be playing an exhibition game at Duke.

The Falcons men's squad played at Duke in October of 2009, losing 128-70 to the Blue Devils.

Head coach Jill Thomas will be starting her third full season with Pfeiffer, having led the team to a 14-13 record last year, the Falcons' first season with a record over .500 since the 2006-07 campaign.

Duke finished 32-4 last year, winning their second straight ACC championship under head coach Joanne P. McCallie, along with reaching the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament. Published reports are that the Blue Devils will bring to Cameron this season a recruiting class that is ranked #1 in the country.

I will have more information on the game, including tickets and such, as we get closer to the season.

I have watched games at all the major college venues in North Carolina, and Cameron ranks among the best experience for a fan. You have to love the Dukies' enthusiasm for the game...they showed great respect to Pfeiffer in 2009, asking me questions before the game all about the school, the team, etc.

I will be making my plans to be in Durham in November!
